I have FINALLY finished my half of my trade with Keiran "Kit" Chen from MZDM. I swear, It's been at least half a year since he finished his part, and I just now got around to completing it. I'm sorry it took so long, Kit! But part of the reason I was waiting was because I felt that the only way I could do him justice (or at least try to) was with a tablet so that I could do it just this way.
I wanted to try something different with Kit since he's obviously not human and that something involved great abuse of the smudge tool in photoshop. I wanted to try for something of a more painterly effect, in contrast to the airbrushing-type shading I generally seem to use in my pics. And so, well, here's the result.
I hope you like it, Kit
This took about 2 1/2 hours (a record, for me) in photoshop
Keiran "Kit" Chen is (c) his creator
((I'll put up a bigger version once I get this size hosted on MZDM))
Edit: Damnit, now that I look at it again, I keep seeing things that need fixing! >< But I'm lazy, so this is how it stays
Very nice, Ecko! ^__^ And before you think I'm Kit.. well, I AM Kit, just not Chen. x3
Anyway.. 'tis awesome! I wish I could draw like that. ;-; Keep up the awesome work! And by the looks of it, I'd say that this art would be well worth the wait. ^_^
This is great! You really got the wide eyes scary quality that Kit has. Not to mention some beautiful colouring work - the furriness produced by the smudge tool is a neat thing to experiment with. Altogether, the effect is amazingly professional.
Though I have to say my favourite of it all is his ears. Just the detail you put into them, of the red fur fading into the black, the inside of the ear, the tufts on the tops...shweet. I'm really envying this right now.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
